Charitable Grants for the Guiseley Area
The Trust can consider the provision of grants to registered charities within the Guiseley area where their area of work aligns itself to the charitable aims of the Frank Parkinson Yorkshire Trust, such as:
- The provision of relief and assistance to local residents in particular need and hardship
AVSED Minibus
The Trust has a long-standing relationship with AVSED (Aireborough Voluntary Service for the Elderly Disabled) and is pleased to have been able to award grants to AVSED to meet the leasing charges of a minibus.
The first grant covered the five years from 2012 to 2017 and the more recent grant has covered the five years 2017 through to 2022. The minibus services provided by AVSED and operated by volunteer drivers deliver a vital connection for and between local elderly residents to access shopping and other local amenities and services.

School of Engineering Minibus
The Trust is also pleased to have made a recent grant to the School of Engineering at Leeds City College, again to meet the leasing charges of a minibus. The grant covers the five years 2021 through to 2026.
This minibus will enable electrical engineering students to visit exhibitions, electrical engineering businesses and installations as well as universities. Such visits will open students’ eyes to the world of work and provide opportunities to experience the challenges and rewards a career in engineering can offer.
